Once a month what started as Manner Abend (men's evening) and morphed into Spieler Abend (Gamer evening), a couple of friends from the village meet and eat dinner, play board games, and of course drink beer.
Tonight was the first night that it was hosted at my house after about a year of operation and I mark it up as an overall success.
My wife went the extra mile to make everything look very German and nice. Really proud of her!
There were only 5 of us tonight, which is plenty, but sometimes we are as large as 10 people. The reason it became gamer night is that some of the wives started coming along and no one seemed to object.
Tonight was also my wife's first night in attendance, and she had a lot of fun. We played 4 rounds of clue after a large meal of chili and bread and had plenty of beer to wash it down. I won the first round, then bought the farm every round after. 🤣
I was sad some of the regulars didn't make it to see our “new” house, but that's just the way it is.
We got the kids in bed before the guests showed up and they slept through all the ruckus which was an added bonus.
I have been gifted the amazing treat of being able to sleep in tomorrow, by my wife, and I plan to use that to the fullest.
So, if you're wondering where I am I will be hiding out in my bed for a good while tomorrow morning!
