Each year more than 300 million people in India have to battle severe water shortages. People have died from dehydration because their nearest well is too far away to travel to. India's biggest state, Rajasthan, is also one one of the driest but does dam-building grandmother Amla Ruia and her Aakar Charitable Trust have a solution to the water problem? Over the past 10 years they have built more than 200 'check-dams' transforming the lives and livelihoods of more than 115 villages.
