Music gone backwards

Music has always been part of the lives of many people. Sadly for the past coming two decades now, slowly but surely, the direction that most mainstream "artistes" go for has been the trinity of sex, drugs and violence. Be it their choice or not, they are still going along for the money. Yes, money. Selling out their originality , their soul if you will, going against personal integrity, all for the sake of money and fame, but when it comes down to it, money. Gone were the days when music videos would tell a story based on the song. Nowadays it is booty, booty and more booty, in different settings of course, but you get my drift. I often wonder, the progress of man , and progress we have, fields of technology, medicine, etc. Music however, has been going backwards. What is the ongoing trend? Simple, Dance and various shades of it. Singers don't sing anymore, they use auto tune. Entertainers lip sync. Sure the "music" sounds "clean" and high quality but there is no more soul in the art. Soul is the most important factor in the art, where people connect , where people's emotions are stirred, when tears string down cheeks as one remembers times gone by. Where are the real artistes that are not bound by corporate red tape? Where are they who have not sold out ? I continue to stand for originality and integrity for one's music. My music does not objectify women, does not promote sex and drug use .Songs are met to be, telling of stories, sharing of memories, expressing love towards one another, don't you agree ?
