Chiapas - The Waterway
Chiapas is a whitewater course in the Phantasialand in Brühl, which was officially opened on 1 April 2014. The full name is Chiapas - THE waterway. It replaces the demolished in 2011 whitewater Stonewash and Wildwash Creek in the subject area Mexico in the same place.
The ride runs on five driving levels. The waterway has the steepest descent of a whitewater course with a 53 degree inclination. Chiapas has three runs, one of them with backwards shot.
New in the winter season 2014/15 is Tiempo de Fuego, a show with fire effects and panoramic projections that claim the whole Chiapas front.
The soundtrack produced exclusively for Chiapas was written by Andreas and Sebastian Kübler of the Paderborn-based music production studio IMAscore and recorded with the 65-member Budapest Film Orchestra.
For the winter dream 2014/15 the soundtrack of IMAscore was reworked with Christmas sounds.
