A bit of Funk in the studio using Tape.

in analogtape •  6 years ago

Its nice to get to play with the toys in the studio myself sometimes, this is a very quick jam I had with my cousin Scott Richman. Going very analog here and using tape for the mastering. I didn't have any new tapes to hand at the time and just used an old one from the 70's. It's amazing that it still worked as it wasn't looked after particularly well. I've since re-stocked with some modern tape which sounds incredible. I plan to do a comparison between a digital master versus an all analog equivalent, it should be interesting to hear the same source material through the different mediums.

As a drummer and lover of funk ....I really like it. Cool stuff going on here :)

Thank you! We need to get in the studio and make some more, we are both fans of old funk records.

Funky groove! Good to hear you jam. :)

Thanks Katrina, really appreciate it!

Always happy to find more musicians. It took me a while, but blogging here helped me find a thriving community and I'm super grateful for it. Gotta pass on the goodness. :) You might check out @isaria's contests as a way to get more eyes on your posts—she does some excellent music curation. Here are the latest ones:

I don't know if you're in Discord yet, but there's fantastic access to community there, and links to the MSP/PAL Discord server on Isaria's posts (there are a ton of servers, but that's a good place to start). When I first came to the Steem blockchain I stumbled upon Discord and felt like I'd jumped down too many rabbit holes, but learned over time. People are happy to help. It offers lots of opportunities to network and learn, and the radio shows are a ton of fun. Hope to see you there. :)
