Love this idea of using ANALYTICS to repurpose unsold inventory.

Here in Australia, we've got OzHarvest (and a couple of others too) that do a pretty great job of doing the actual collection and distribution of stuff that would otherwise become food waste. I don't know what system they use (asides from having some regulars that always have stuff, restaurants and cafes, but some supermarkets too) to know who has something that needs a new home, but this looks like a pretty neat system for that side of the puzzle.

Food waste is such a huge problem, with so many links in the chain to fix the problem and make it better, but I do believe we're getting there with finding at least some solutions for most of the links
