The path less traveled

I sat down in front of the television a half hour ago to a movie just starting called "1492 Conquest of Paradise", a movie about Christopher Columbus. Yes, I'm well aware he was a tyrant and slave master and not someone worthy to be celebrated. But the movie started off with this quote above and it got me thinking about me turning my back on the belief in statism and towards advocating true freedom. I've learned over time that most people cannot be easily persuaded. Most people are fully content in living their lives in their own bubbles. They're comfortable, content, with what they understand and what they want to hear. Granted, I was extremely militant when I started out that probably would have turned me off if I was a statist. Sadly, many people who claimed to be my friend and loved me ostracized me from their lives.

Since then I have become at peace with the fact that the world will never be what I want it to be. I realized that I had to start with myself. Freedom starts at home and the principles my wife and I instill into our children through peaceful parenting and non aggression. I haven't stopped advocating freedom and recognizing the rights of every human being on the planet. When someone says to me that I have inspired to rethink what they have believed their whole lives all I can say is that I'm happy to help. People have said to me "what have you done for humanity? You just sit behind a computer. Real change comes from within the system." I would often say "I've done more than you could ever imagine."
