Anarchy literally means "without rulers." A long history of people who don't understand that doesn't change the meaning.

I never said that anarchists don't know what it means.
...and two can play the flag game

That's exactly what you said. Don't play dumb. I know it's not much of a stretch, but it's poor form.

Exactly what I said is a few inches above for all to see. It's not a matter for debate.

Actually, plenty so-called 'anarchists' I've met tend to have no idea what the word anarchy means... for example, only a couple months ago I saw anarchists campaigning for the UK to stay in the EU, and prior to that they were campaigning against austerity (i.e., reduced government spending). They were essentially campaigning to ensure the coercive power of the State (i.e., the rulers) was retained.

Also, a major mistake I see amongst certain circles of anarchists is their blind allegiance to rulers from the grave. By which I mean, for example, writers like Prodhoun, who himself asserted that "Property is theft!". The statement in itself is a logical self-refutation. It presupposes such a thing as property and that a crime has taken place. But then a crime against whom and according to whose judgement?

The appropriation of the commons through the assertion of private property rights is theft from all... That's the argument.

This is a beautiful post lol

Anarchism and socialist ideas are not compatible. left-wing anarchists urge to abandon the commodity-money relations and the monopoly of the state fair.

Socialism simply means the means of production are controlled by the workers. It's ultimately the only thing that can be compatible with anarchism. You're right in the sense that state socialism and so called "democratic socialism" are incompatible with anarchism, however... Mainly because they either preserve capitalist social relations explicitly, or at the very least the conditions for it to re-emerge.

Best. Post. Ever.

Why do the red-flag anarchists always get so excited about armed revolution? Still a funny video and it mentioned a few characters I'm not familiar with.

Sorry it was funny not that I didn't think that it wasn't a serious topic it was just funny. :D

I hoped you'd like it.

Because they need to use weapons to convince others to follow their ideology

Heheh. Yeah, seems that way sometimes. I usually corner people down on what their moral framework is whenever I get into ideological debates on this stuff. If someone's definition of "good" and "bad" don't match up with my own, it's going to be hard to discuss anything else rationally.

This video is funny.
