The Hul'qumi'num word for "Creator" is actually "Sieth eth siem" (which means "highest most respected one") In our original stories the name of the son of "Sieth eth Siem" was named HAALS or HEELS (depending on whether you are from the northern part of the Coast Salish people on Vancouver Island or the Southern Part) also sometimes spelled XEELS or XALS. The X letter in Hul'qumi'num is an "H" sound in English like HALLS or HEELS. HEELS or HALLS is known to non-hul'qumi'num people as Jesus Christ. In our language he is known as the son of the Highest Most Respected One - Our creator... AND "The Transformer". Our original stories tell about the time that HALLS or HEELS came amongst our peoples and delivered judgements about whether people were behaving in a good way (the way of their nature) or in a bad way (opposed to their nature). After casting judgement he transformed some people into rocks or animals as punishment or in keeping with the natural laws.
