I tend to agree.. Though I do think some are worse than others, and this crop is the worst I've personally witnessed.
I mean.. We were suppose to be rebelling from tyranny by coming over here and founding this nation, yet we came over here and became arguably even worse tyrants than those we were rebelling against by slaughtering between 10 and 100 million or more natives.
I'm not sure if we've ever had a good president. Seems like they were all corrupt in one way or another.
I would have to agree. This Presidential election is the worst ever in my short years actually voting and I am 29 years old. I would rather have Obama have his third term (even though I truly disagree with him on TPP and other issues) than Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. It's flat out laughable the choices that myself and a lot of the USA folks have to choose. I rather bet on Bovada for this race than actually making my decision. It is just flat out cruddy.

Whoa.. That's a scary thought.. When Obama is less scary than the two people who are suppose to be competing to replace him.. Far too often what's happening in the world reminds me of like some science fiction horror movie or something. :|

we have a hard time getting accurate news as to what happened yesterday 6PM in our own neighborhood. the research involved in getting even a marginal hint of why america rebelled would span multiple degrees. rebelling against tyranny takes many forms. the best estimate i have been able to dig up of total tax burden levied against the average individual american colonist by the crown was 17%. if we include all taxes, fees, fines, tariffs levied against americans today by our own government, it reaches 2-3 times that. including obamacare, which the supreme court said is a tax, it goes higher still. there were other aspects of tyranny but that was the tax burden. most of the natives died from disease, imported by some of our ancestors, and not deliberately spread with blankets. there were atrocities on both sides but any standard of civilized equity that can be described as decent and forward thinking came from western europe. this is where the abolition of slavery came from. again see the statement about local news from 6PM yesterday. leaders come and leaders go. i don't think we've had a leader in a long time. other than being straight up bought, i think all we have these days are politicians, not leaders. at least we don't have atilla the hun, genghis khan, or stalin, and at least ostensibly, we don't live under a monarchy.

I can generally agree, we have evolved a bit. Though it the grand scheme.. The reality seems more like technology evolved enough to not need so many ground troops anymore cause our leaders are still doing some pretty barbaric things, now they just do it from the sky and it seems like "progress" cause less people die. Which.. in a sense it is.. I agree. But.. In a sense it's not. Especially to those innocent people who are getting bombed and killed. To them, I don't think it matters much whether it's Ghengis Khan or Obama, or Bush, Or Clinton, or whoever..
"we have a hard time getting accurate news as to what happened yesterday 6PM in our own neighborhood. "
I do very much agree with this, and I'm a very skeptical person so when I speak in a historical sense it's usually like what is accepted history. I do understand the difference and realize I wasn't back there and don't know it all, but.. I tend to operate under a historical model when talking about such things. Though I do get your point.
I'm not sure I can agree with this. I don't think anyone really knows, just like you mentioned above. But.. Even if it was mostly disease it was still caused by us. And it wasn't totally inadvertently that they nearly got entirely wiped out. Some of our founders are quoted as wanting to pretty much extinct them.. And they almost did.
Our founders weren't the greatest of people either.. There's quotes from many of them speaking of the natives as savages that need to pretty much be exterminated like animals. And many of them owned slaves themselves while promoting freedom which is kind of hypocritical in my opinion.
I suggest looking into the "American Holocaust" If you're not familiar with it.. It's not really known how bad it was, some experts thing as I mentioned before between 10 million to over 100 million.. That's quite a gap of mystery.. We really don't know just how bad it was, but we know enough to know they slaughtered tons of innocents and wanted to pretty much wipe them out and ultimately almost did.
I think it's pretty clear what we did to them was prolly worse than what our tyrants did to us. But either way. History is a bit foggy eh? It's hard to know for sure. Though many of our founders were some pretty ruthless people as well.
Agreed. There might be some leaders behind the scenes in the secret societies, but I think presidents and politicians are mostly puppets.. And those leaders behind the scenes don't represent me either, no matter how much they think they do.
"and at least ostensibly, we don't live under a monarchy."
True. The illusion of freedom, is better than the opposite. And we do have some real tangible freedoms, I admit that. In other places I'd get like shot for saying some of this kinda stuff.. I acknowledge that but doesn't mean we shouldn't keep striving to do even better. :)

i have enough native to get college funds. my uncles have so much they don't grow facial hair. i've looked into how they lived and whoever wants it can keep it. there were atrocities committed on both sides. here's something, not saying the guy is 100% correct but, his citations check out, so far.
