What a great article and something a friend of mine has had experience of. After she shunned her "Shaman"(or whatever a shamanic leader is called) he then froze her out and made the experience a waste of time. This isn't as bad as the case you mentioned but still an example of how folk need to keep their wits about them. In my friends case, the weekend seemed to revolve around taking iowaska(sorry for the spelling) Maybe I am suspicious but there were women who just didn't question the dangers and in my friends case she was really putting herself in danger.
