EXT. DRIVER'S SEAT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
The reins have fallen in between the horses and the carriage. HENRY is desperately trying to reach them, but they are too low for him.
EXT. FORK IN THE ROAD - MORNING
We see a large, beautiful sign pointing northeast and southeast. Northeast reads 'BOAITHA', southeast reads 'THE IMPERIAL PALACE OF ARIANDER'. The carriage takes a chaotic northeasterly turn at the fork and heads towards 'BOAITHA'. The KNIGHTS desperately try to catch up, but the carriage is too fast. As the carriage moves at this breakneck speed, we hear SARAAN scream from the carriage.
EXT. DRIVER'S SEAT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
HENRY is desperately trying to grab the reins, to no avail. He risks life and limb and gently balances his body weight to give himself an extra inch. We close on his fingers nearing the reins, but the reins fall to the ground and drag along the dirt road.
HENRY - Shit!!!!
EXT. ROAD - MORNING
KROKOR is still standing on his own.
KROKOR (angrily) - THAT'S CHEATING!!!!!
He throws his sword to the ground like a spoilt child and kicks the roads.
EXT. FRONT OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
GWORT and MYGOR are keeping an eye on the oncoming knights.
SARAAN (OOV) (screaming) - GWORT!!!!
GWORT looks at MYGOR, he knows what he must do. MYGOR acknowledges him, so GWORT edges his way around to the side door of the carriage.
EXT. REAR OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
ST. JOHN, DONSENDORTH and HAROLD cling to the carriage handrail in morbid fear. ST. JOHN is clutching the homing pigeon cage with dear life and is only holding the rail with one hand. An idea suddenly strikes him, he opens the cage and releases the pigeons, he then drops the cage and grabs the rail.
EXT. SIDE OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
GWORT is slowly edging his way closer to the side door.
EXT. FRONT OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
We see HENRY desperately trying to reach the reins. He looks up in time to see a fallen branch on the road ahead.
HENRY (worriedly) - Mygor, big bump!!!
We cross to MYGOR who quickly reacts, he grabs the top of the carriage for support and then grabs HENRY'S ankle tightly.
EXT. ROAD - MORNING
We see the large branch go under the horses and the carriage.
EXT. SIDE OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
As the carriage hits the branch, GWORT is launched high into the air. Knowing he will land on the ground, GWORT uses his magical ability to raise the horses and carriage off the ground and to the left. GWORT lands safely on the roof of the carriage and he quickly turns to face MYGOR who is watching him.
GWORT (victoriously) - Five months.
MYGOR smiles as GWORT climbs into the carriage. He then turns to the front to see he is merely holding HENRY'S boot.
MYGOR (panicking) - Henry!!!
MYGOR looks down between the carriage and horses, to see HENRY hanging on for dear life. HENRY waves to him sarcastically, MYGOR reacts immediately lowering himself to reach HENRY's extended hand.
INT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
GWORT is cradling SARAAN, who is sobbing.
GWORT (comforting her) - I'm here now.
EXT. ROAD - MORNING
The carriage has slowed a fraction and KEN manages to ride alongside it. KEN draws his sword to cut through the carriage pole and binding. Before he does so, he notices the handle of MYGOR'S battle axe leaning against the driver's seat. He sheaths his sword and grabs the axe.
EXT. FRONT OF CARRIAGE - MORNING
KEN rides forward and starts chopping through the pole and binding. HENRY desperately ducks and dodges the blows as he reaches for MYGOR'S hand.
EXT. DRIVER'S SEAT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
MYGOR finally grabs HENRY and pulls him up to the safety of the driver's seat. The two of them breathe a sigh of relief then look to see KEN finally separate the horses from the carriage. We close on MYGOR and HENRY'S faces reacting to the horses riding off into the distance. The carriage careens out of control and MYGOR, HENRY, DONSENDORTH, HAROLD and ST. JOHN leap from it.
KEN and his men watch as the speeding carriage continues down the road, swaying violently.
INT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
GWORT opens the door.
GWORT (shouting) - We have to jump.
SARAAN (shouting) - What about your magic?
GWORT (shouting) - What?
SARAAN (shouting) - Your magic!!!
GWORT (shouting) - Hold on.
GWORT makes a hand gesture and the carriage stops, frozen in time for a brief moment. The KNIGHTS are amazed, as are MYGOR and the others.
INT. CARRIAGE - MORNING
GWORT is holding SARAAN.
GWORT - Now, what were you saying?
SARAAN - (enthusiastically) - Why do we have to jump, why don't you use your magic?
GWORT - I can only use it on things I can see. You see if we were outside, I could stop the carriage, but because we're inside the carriage...
SARAAN (disappointedly) - You can't see it, so you can't use your magic.
GWORT - Precisely.
SARAAN (with a spark of enthusiasm) - What about this spell?
GWORT - What you mean the time freeze spell?
SARAAN - Yes.
Pause.
GWORT (with realization) Of course, it's perfect, you're a genius.
(he kisses SARAAN)
The carriage freezes in time for sixty seconds, we jump out safely and no one gets hurt. Why didn't I think of it?
SARAAN - Hold on, did you just say sixty seconds?
As GWORT says this line the carriage continues to speed off dangerously along the road.
GWORT - Yeah, whyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!
GWORT realizes his mistake and smiles awkwardly at SARAAN.
GWORT (cont’d) (shouting) - Oooops!!!!!!
GWORT opens the door and jumps clear of the carriage. When SARAAN jumps out, the door closes on her dress and she is dragged.
EXT. ROAD - MORNING
The carriage finally stops. Unfortunately, it is off balance, and it slowly falls onto the unconscious SARAAN. Seconds before it crushes her, we see a ball of light suspend it in mid-air.
EXT. SIDE OF ROAD - MORNING
GWORT, who is lying on his stomach, strains as he uses his magic to hold up the carriage.
EXT. OTHER SIDE OF ROAD - MORNING
Without a word, MYGOR and HENRY run to SARAAN and drag her out from under the carriage. Her dress tears away as she is saved. Once clear, the carriage falls to the ground.
EXT. ROAD - MORNING
KEN applauds their efforts.
KEN (emotionally) - That was beautiful, not only did you save our virgin, but you took a left instead of a right and saved me and the boys a lot of unnecessary travel time. I'm actually touched.
KEN signals his men and they surround MYGOR and HENRY. He then draws his dagger and turns to aim it at the spell casting GWORT, who is still lying on his stomach.
KEN (aiming the dagger) - Uh! Uh! Uh!
GWORT lowers his hands in defeat. Three KNIGHTS, DON, PAUL and BARNEY dismount, DON and BARNEY hold MYGOR and HENRY at bay while PAUL picks up the unconscious SARAAN. He lifts her onto his horse, and climbs on behind her, supporting her carefully.
GWORT
Where are you taking her?
KEN
(pointing his dagger)
You're on a need to know basis only, so do be quiet.
KEN signals his men and they ride off with the unconscious SARAAN. GWORT is helpless and he covers his head in frustration. BARNEY climbs on his horse and rides off without a worry. DON, on the other hand, has a little trouble climbing on, as he is not used to mounting his horse with a sword in one hand. He is at a loss, as he doesn't want to sheath it, in case he is attacked.
DON (angrily to our heroes) - Turn around.
Our heroes all turn away. DON sheathes his sword and climbs on the horse. As he does this, a war cry echoes from the surrounding forest. DON looks around in a startled fashion as KROKOR charges out of the forest and tackles the horse and rider to the ground. We close on DON's screaming face.
