So you've reached a point in life where you think you have a pretty good handle on how the world works. Developed relationships, political ideologies, career, habits, etc. Yeah, I was there too. I had always known something was off but mostly followed conventional wisdom. Being an American, I really had no idea what reality was outside of what I had been taught. You know, land of the free and home of the brave and how we got it right and everyone else in the world is not as fortunate. American exceptionalism was well engrained and I bought it. I was a product of my environment, not unlike most everyone else. I thought politics was the way to change the world. I studied Constitution and the writings of founding fathers. I do think that many of those ideas were revolutionary. The problem was that self government and freedom were just that, ideas. Freedom was trampled out and replaced with authoritarian oppression many years before my time and yet, somehow, the illusion of freedom is still purported to exist by enslaved masses even today.
My awakening was a process. I always felt bad for people living under communist regimes. I mean, that's what I was taught. I was told that we have to have government or it will slide into anarchy, which back then, made sense to me. Now i understand that ANARCHY IS SELF GOVERNMENT! It had always been right in front of me. Funny how your perception changes. I started feeling bad for all of us in the western societies. In communist countries the people had no choice of the regimes controlling them, and typically are anti-government. In western societies, we vote in our slave masters and most will defend their system violently if it is opposed or questioned.(The Matrix?) Free thought is snuffed out at an early age. There really is little difference in governments anywhere on this earth. They are all very evil entities propped up by the belief of man and dedicated to the promotion, protection, and expansion of itself at the detriment of humanity. Government always ends up being corrupt.
The first step to freedom is to stop legitimizing government by believing in them at all. Put your mind to being self governing, not reliant on some authoritarian entity that gains it's power by sucking out ours. All interactions between people should be voluntary. If an idea has to be forced through violence (like government always does), it's probably not a good idea. image
