We all know the importance of prepping, it's just a prudent thing to do, even if you're not worried about economic collapse etc. Even just for people that live in areas prone to earthquakes having supplies is a must.
One item that I think should go in everyone's kit is the Life Straw. It's an inexpensive water filter that you can take hiking and camping too. In the situation that you don't have the ability to carry a bunch of bottled water with you, the Life Straw could definitely come in handy.

A spammer and an asshole. Let me add an actual comment. I have several of these and they are in my bugout bag. I have actually never used one and I have viewed videos where people have actually used the straws as a pre-filter and then boiled the water before drinking. I have a pond on my property and should probably busy one out and give it a try.

I have one and have used it to drink out of many lakes and streams. I really do like the Sawer mini water filter though. It fits on some water bottles so one just needs to fill up the water bottle, twist on the Sawer and drink.
