Squat life, Warsaw Poland

Solidarity In Every City.

Przychodnia Squat, Center of Warsaw.

I arrived yesterday and got the impression that like many other places, it had turned into a 'housing project' after seeing no lights on or movement coming from the place. A housing project is not a squat.

In most cases a place was once a squat but then the squatter's made a deal with the city council, which is just conforming once again to the BS and a false illusion of freedom. A housing project looks like a squat, but its definatly not.

There are many places like this but they are only having the apperance of an occupied property, and do as the city council says to keep it open but with restrictions.

The two places I will show you in the next few posts are proud to be real squats, stealing electric and paying no one rent to use the long standing empty buildings.

Its pritty much standard to be able to knock on a door of an occupied property and ask to stay in the guest room for some nights, and the same goes if someone asks me for a place to stay- there is a place for someone to stay a few nights whilst they travel from A to B because its the lifestyle.

All over the globe anarchists use buildings that are empty for a long time to proof to the sheeple that its wrong for people to be homeless and also if not worse that people are a slave to stay alive by working to pay the rent for a place to sleep and live.

The Society is sick and is just insulting on a daily basis so we found alternative ways

I decided to go around the block to see if there was another part to it, and sure enough I saw the beloved sign hanging up high from the wall..

It turns out that this is the second real squat in Warsaw called Syrena, and has a vegan cafe at the weekends.

It was closed shut, padlocks on the gates- but I then saw through the archway out the back, someone standing on a blacony smoking on the backside of the squat that I first thought was inactive!

This was when I knew there were people there and went continueing around the block to find the back entrance to the squat. We exchanged wierd jungle animal noises and I waited for someone to come open the back gate, but nobody came!

I went back around to the front and sat on the ground just as a girl came walking up the steps. Perfect, it was just starting to rain aswell and she asked if i wanted to stay the night as a guest.

At home in Warsaw..

I got given the tour, which was like a labrynth and confused the fuck outta me, and met around 10 people whose names also got me lost.
The place is big, and has a huge basement where yesterday someone was having band rehersals.

It seems that there are many people living here and most are since a few years already.

The Guest Room..

This post was meant to go up lastnight, but I had to replace my SD card reader, whick I got just now. The weather is crappy today so im not sure if I will play guitar or just chill and go look for wood to heat the squat later. Theres no heating but wood burners dotted around!

I just ate and will go find some building trash to get free wood.. see you all laters alligaters!

Big love & Abundance,
@movingman

YES looking forward to this trip, you must be so outgoing to do this!

Some days i have wished it was still like the olden days where you just found a bit of land and built your own house - rather than the whole rent trap we have now.

Thats why why squat empty places- to prove a point! That's point actually, the rent or even worse a fucking mortgage! Mort means death in some language lol 😊

Glad you got a SD card reader. Wow interesting place you found there. Are you planing on staying many night's there?

Most citys have squatted buildings but see them as 'scary places', when thats where you meet people who (for example) go hand in hand with crypto, although they dont even know about crypto world!

People who dont or wont fit in that template of 'normal' 😂

Yes sounds true to me :)

Looks like a pretty sweet place to squat for a while, glad you found a real place to stay. I love seeing your posts about your travels.. take care my friend.

Yeh this place is fucking cool! Was just getting shitfaced with a group of belarusians at the other squat 😂 I had no clue wtf they were talking about the last 6hours, but the local vodka from their country was tasty hahaha
