Day For Freedom

Day For Freedom is a pro-free speech event that will be happening on the 6th of May, at Whitehall, London. The UK has been cracking down heavily on freedom of speech, being especially harsh on anyone expressing a right leaning political opinion. A famous example of this is conservative speaker/youtuber, Lauren Southern, and the UK's authorities decision to deny her access into the country. Lauren Southern was on her way to speak about her opinions to an audience of like minded people. Other examples include Count Dankula and his possible imprisonment for "offensive" humor, and Tommy Robinson and his continuous random arrests.

I cannot attend the event myself because I live on the other side of the world, however I will contribute by donating, which can be done here

Quoted from dayforfreedom.com
"Freedom of Speech is one of the most important issues facing our world today. Without it there is no real debate or opportunity to learn. We cannot tackle the pressing cultural and political issues we face if our mouths are bound.

This is why Day for Freedom is so important. We will gather on Whitehall, at the heart of our government and demand that our legislators, MPs, police forces and social media giants stop their war on freedom of expression.

Day for Freedom will be unlike any march or demonstration we have done before. This time we’re serious. That’s why we’ll have screens, a massive PA system, we’re flying in some of the most important international voices of the free speech movement – and we’ve spent thousands on promotional materials for the event.

In fact our costs have run into the tens of thousands – so we want to say thank you to all the people who have donated and supported us, we couldn’t do this without you."

Awesome to hear! I hope the justice system gets a good whooping :)

You're supporting the lady who wants a white ethno state?

Why?

@chamberpunk it is less so about good or bad opinions as it is about protesting the attack on free speech that is taking place in western European countries.

Random question.

Why are you asking us to send her money?

You can say censorship is bad but not support the people being censored.

If she has an idea you don't agree with, why would you financially support her.

How do you feel about Eugene Deb's getting thrown in prison for not supporting ww1 on communist grounds?

I doubt you'd send him money.

The money is going to the event, not the speakers. I believe in free speech, which is what I am supporting. If someone has an opinion that I don't agree with, and they are disallowed by law to express their thoughts, then I would still support that persons right to free speech.

We are surely at an all-time low in terms of moral bankruptcy. This so-called #DayForFreedom is a complete and utter mockery of everything the 1960s civil rights movement stood for.
