I have committed a lot of my work to fleshing out how authoritarian abuses in childhood lead to destructive civilizations, and I am extremely glad that other people like you also recognize this.

Are you familiar with the work of Alice Miller by chance? Her book "For Your Own Good," really rams a lot of these points home.
