finally overcome my technophobia and found you here.. (maybe cos youtube have unannounced "suspended" my account for a reason that they have yet to tell me)
anyway.. have my concerns about steemit..
strikes me as counterproductive to be rewarded for saying the things that people are inclined to agree with.. i would have thought it would be more zen to be motivated to say the things that people are complacently inclined to disagree with ?
getting banned for speaking the truth is maybe a greater accolade than getting paid to tell people what they want to hear ??

    Hi there and welcome to steemit. Steemit is far from perfect. but its a really interesting social experiment. Its got its own eco system which is kind of anarchic. It has rogues and angels and most of what goes on is visible as opposed to the system we live in where most stuff is hidden. The problem you highlight here is a noteworthy one. However, i personally would not object to someone disagreeing with me. In fact if that person was articulte and intelligent in their arguments I would value that and happily upvote it. Although it is easy to get stuck in bubbles here. Its up to you though. You can choose to follow people with whom you disagree? There is another big issue here which is that the people with the most STEEM, have the biggest influence on who gets rewarded. And the guys who started this have a huge percentage of the STEEMM although they dont use it to upvote at the moment. And having said that, there are lots of great people on here creating great content that can't be censored and rewarding great content. So I just see it as a virtual reality game.
    I think that eventually either this site will change its rules and evolve or others will appear that improve the way things are done.
