Each day the world brims with newly written history of the human struggle for freedom. Many historians will examine and evaluate these events through the eyes and ears of tyrants, but here at This Day in Anarchy, we intend to seek out and share the stories that inform and empower our readers, not indoctrinate them.
On this day in anarchy, August 20th, champions of justice, Dr. Ron Paul(1935) & KRS-One(1965) were born.
Dr. Ron Paul
Dr. Ron Paul set many precedents in foreign and monetary policies for liberty-leaning politicians whom would never before speak of real freedom. His famous audit the fed bill, though becoming stale as he fades from the little bit of limelight he garnered over his tenure, has raised many questions about the practices of the Federal Reserve. He is also the only politician to ever hold federal office and come out publicly in support of voluntaryism. His son, Rand came along and bastardized nearly all said accomplishments, but we won't get into that here...
KRS-One
Prolific hip-hop artist, KRS-One has long been extremely critical of police & political agencies for their meddling in the lives of everyday Americans.

On August 20, 1940, exiled Russian Marxist and founding leader of the Red Army, Leon Trotsky is murdered with an ice axe. This assassination order was dealt out under the control of Joseph Stalin's regime. The killer, Ramón Mercader had this to say:
"I laid my raincoat on the table in such a way as to be able to remove the ice axe which was in the pocket. I decided not to miss the wonderful opportunity that presented itself. The moment Trotsky began reading the article, he gave me my chance; I took out the ice axe from the raincoat, gripped it in my hand and, with my eyes closed, dealt him a terrible blow on the head."

Lastly, on August 20, 1965 a Keene, NH resident, Jonathan Daniels martyred himself as he jumped in from of a shotgun blast from Sheriff Deputy, Tom L. Coleman. Daniels had traveled to Alabama to assist local civil rights activists. Deputy Coleman had his firearm trained on seventeen year-old civil rights activist, Ruby Sales, when Daniels pushed her away from the blast, ultimately succumbing to an immediate, gruesome death.
