I have been reading about the amazing experience a friend has been having using steemit and decided to give it a try. I can appreciate decentralized systems, and alternative media. We have had the technologies of internet mass communication for my entire life of 30 years. I have watched and studied the systems of mass media and communication and I understand that new technologies arise due to monopolization of the old ones by the same corporate interests. It seems to me that the technological boom has created a communications gap. (Yes that was a Dr. Strangelove ref) There are those who have the ability to use and understand the technologies, and those who cant for whatever reason. I joined Steemit because I believe that facebook is becoming obsolete. for the same reasons the AM radio, and TV sets became obsolete. Anyone with any sense in their head can deduce that the owners are simply using these old tools to manipulate the population, and facebook has gone too far in that direction.
I am a multifaceted anarchist. I love to build things and my interests lean towards the eclectic. I have always had a knack for electromechanical systems. I have taken an interest lately in building and restoring antique vacuum tube stereo equipment, and I hope to do a series of articles on finding and fixing up old tube Hi Fi systems.
I collect records, and I love to listen to them, I don't listen to music on a device, I don't download music. I am an analog fanatic, and I have invested way too much time and money to ever go back now. I am an analog man in a digital world. I sometimes travel and going to records stores along the way is always a highlight of my trip. Without my music, my life would not have a soundtrack.
I fix cars and trucks by trade, I attended a trade school for automotive and diesel technologies and graduated with an associates degree which can grant me a minimum wage job anywhere in the country. I watched the majority of my classmates take about 6 months of classes and then drop out. Most could not pay the student loan payments which came due. 50% of them didn't make it, meaning they didn't get a degree, but incurred some amount of debt.
Debt will be a topic I write about often.
Theres not a whole lot more to say for an introduction, I am looking forward to sharing my perspective with anyone and everyone who tunes in to hear it.
