What a beautiful ending to a troubling story. I am glad that you have managed to end using psychiatric pharmaceuticals. I have been struck by that club, and I use that term because I think it properly characterizes how refined our understanding of their effects are.
The trial and error of their application, in formulation and dosage, is really metaphorically just bashing our brains with different clubs, in different places, with differing force.
Self medicating is no more refined, but at least the side effects of psylocibin aren't suicidal ideation. My experiences with hallucinogens were invariably NOT in clinical settings, and did not prove medically beneficial to me as a result, and I paid in time spent in recovery for the failure of the medical establishment to withstand politicization and actually study how they can help us.
It is great that you didn't let that stop you, but took your health in your own hands.
Things are sometimes disturbing in life, and we can get stuck. I am glad you broke free.
Psilocybin isn't for everyone to be quite honest and straight forward. Psychedelics can be an extremely helpful tool in finding yourself but it needs the correct setting and you need to go into it with the intent to heal yourself (sometimes having a guide can also help). I've heard from some that the more powerful psychedelics may help with the more troubling and stubborn issues. Thank you for commenting and your time! 😊
