The Legal System was created to re-institutionalize african americans, which is da reason "Slave Codes" were created.

The Vagrancy Law - Any person that wasn't fully employed or have a place of resindency! So the slaves who were just released as a freedman get locked up as soon as they step foot off the plantation.
The Convict Lease Program which was a law stating once you were convicted you could be leased right back to the plantation, Once blacks attempted to vote,
The Literacy Act``- was implemented stated you can vote but 1st we need you read this paragraph. Once the paragraph was read they locked you up because it was against the law for African Americans to read or write.
No rights to bear arms or self defense,
Legal Imbalance -In court a white man's word holds more weight than an enslaved person. Black man get accused of raped meant certain death or castrated, For White men it was Open season on the black woman's body..
Travel Restriction - Must have written permission from their master(school system also does this)
No ownership - A slave or any person of color were prohibited to owning anything unlessed it was by da master's permission...
No Congregating Of Black People - black's couldnt get together as a group for anything unless a white man was present..
No Marriage Policy - Whites didnt recognize marriage of 2 enslaved people and made it easier to break up the family(section 8)
Modification Law - Any black or enslave person were viewed as a commodity and were offered as prizes in raffles, put up as bets and wagers in gambling, as security for loans and etc

**THE PRISON INDUSTRY IS A BUSINESS & all we are is a COMMODITY.. Nothing was abolished not even slavery, they only re-worded or put in new laws to keep the cycle going in in other words " Reconstructed" those laws into today's world..
