Located 60 kms east of Tanjore, Thiruvarur is one of the finest, lesser-known tourist destinations in the Tamil Nadu state of India. Thiruvarur Temple:
The huge Shiva Temple was built more than 1000-years ago during the Chozha period. The presiding deities are called Lord Thiyagaraja and the female deity is Kamalambal.
Kamalalayam
The huge tank located in front of Thiruvarur Temple is called ‘Kamalalayam.’ You can’t see Kamalayam without water like many other temple tanks. Even during the hot summer, it will be filled with water is amazing to watch.
Thiruvarur Car:
Weighing over 300 tons and pulled over by 10000+ 3 bulldozers, it’s one of the heaviest vehicles ever created. During car festivals, nearly 20000 + gather from nearby villages and towns is a sight to watch. There is nothing you can compare with this gigantic moving object.
