Hello Steemians,
Most of the tech geeks along with their Android smartphone knows what is rooting and what is the value of a rooted device. I have been rooting my device since I entered in the Android world. Rooting not only enhances the device performance but provides its user the ability to control the device. It is like giving your flavor to your smartphone. No doubt Supersu was and is the king of the rooted device but from now we will never see any update or development regarding root via SuperSu. In simple words, rooting is like overclocking and customization of your smartphone where you customize it in your style. There are many rooting scripts are available like towel, kingroot, kingoroot, rootmyphone, etc. But SuperSu is the easiest of them.
ChainFire
- Chainfire is the developer of SuperSu and many other rooting scripts. The motive of SuperSu is to provide the freedom of hardware and software to the user.
- Manufacturers used to lock the whole hardware system along with Android OS so that nobody can touch or alter it. Rooting provides the solution where one can edit OS in their own way.
- However, Rooting a system requires some basic knowledge as the user may run into a number of software or security problems which is a bit tough to solve.
- Rooting removes most of the company-side control on your smartphone, but Rooting can void your warranty, still, with the perfect knowledge, you can trick the service center executives and make your phone unrooted.
- Chainfire decides to halt the development of Rooting or SuperSu script, he said,
"EOL-ing all my root-related things
In practice, this has already been the case for some time, but today I'm making it official: all my root-related things are now end-of-life. About half a year ago I decided I needed a break from everything Android, and reflect on how I wanted to proceed with it, if at all. Right now, it does not seem likely I will pick up development of any of my root-related packages or apps again.
For some of these I had big plans, and while it leaves me somewhat sad to not implement them, I am also unwilling to commit the time and energy right now to make those plans a reality - or even keep the packages updated. You can't have it both ways, so it's all getting shelved, probably indefinitely.
I'm going to start doing some spring cleaning on my apps, sites, and threads over the next few weeks. Some will disappear, others will start with having a notice about them no longer being updated (yes I know for some of them it's about time too!) for now.
There are some non-root apps that I do plan to update again, but some will be shelved as well. I am currently working on a (non-Android-related) project that is taking up most of my time, so those that I do want to update will have to wait a bit longer still. In case you have missed the news, 500 Firepaper will also stop functioning on June 15, as 500px is shutting down their API. It is unlikely I will have the time to implement a different image serving back-end to the app before that happens. There have been a bunch of requests to open source specific apps, and indeed it is (and has been for a while) on my todo-list to look into just that - I'm not promising anything, though. Again I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and my developments over the years! I've met great people and made good friends, some of which I'm now actively working with on other projects, even.
But at the moment I'm not using root on my main Android devices for anything other than development, which turns it into a circular reference for me. As for regular Android, I have not been particularly enamored with the direction it has been going in either. But just because I'm not enthusiastic about working on these things now doesn't mean a new idea or project can't come along to change that at any time."

Fall of SuperSu
- The main drawback of Supersu is the safetycheck in which Google API's can detect whether a device is rooted or not which inturn does not allow its user to download app from playstore.
- Many banking and security apps along with games like PokemonGo can easily detect that whether this device is rooted or not, which becomes a major problem for the Android Developers.
- This drawback is well covered by Magisk!
- Google API cannot detect Magisk and Magisk easily passes the safety check done by Google. This fools Google and the device is considered as non-rooted device.
- This made many developers jump from SuperSU to Magisk! However, SuperSU has more scalability than Magisk. supersu has the capability to root most of the Android running smartphone(Around 90% Smartphones available in market.)
In the end
- This move of chainfire seems to be deeply influenced by Magisk development. SuperSU has more than 100 Million+ downloads on playstore.
- Discontinuing supersu will clear the market for Magisk and Magisk will be considered as most optimal rooting script. SuperSU may be still in development but that will remain as an unofficial patch.
- This is the end of a golden era in Android Rooting!
