Anger and unforgiving spirit.
Indeed i am trying to look beyond the humor and glean the obvious lessons, when we were small, my mum used to force all of us to fast every Saturday till 12 noon. She was always at home on Saturdays. We'll do house chores, then gather in the sitting room and take turns to lead in hymns from SS&S. Then we'll pray fervently, with our eyes all fixed on the wall clock; except my mum and my eldest sister. They were truly spiritual.
So one day, my mum went out and instructed us to do the usual. Few minutes later, I and my siblings went out to sightsee. This was freedom. My elder sister bought biscuits for all of us. Without remembering that it was Saturday morning, they started to eat theirs; but I remembered. I've not eaten mine yet. I alerted them. They were shocked and truly sorry. So they begged me to keep mine and not eat it so God could use me as a point of contact to hear our prayers. They also begged me not to tell mum. The idea seemed good to me, so I kept my own biscuit.
My sisters started treating me nice that particular Saturday like the Lord's anointed whose prayer would matter to God more than anyone's own.
Whenever I wanted anything done that day, I would threaten them that I'd eat my biscuits, then my eldest sister would hasten to ensure I'm okay. Someone's prayer must be heard.
But few minutes later, after we'd gone back into the house, my direct elder sister provoked me. I cant even remember what she did. I threatened that I was gonna eat my own biscuit. As naive as we all were, they started begging me to change my mind. But she in particular kept on saying: "Why are you all even begging him?" I got annoyed the more. I said hell no; that I must eat that biscuit. I went in to our room and brought out my biscuit, then ate it before their very eyes.
After I ate it, they laughed at me. I knew why. We were then even. No one would tell mum. We were partners in crime. My direct elder sister provoked me on purpose. She confessed later.
Mum came back and commended us for waiting on the Lord. She rewarded us with a sumptuous afternoon meal. We all felt guilty. Me in particular. The food lost its taste.
Every time I remember this story, I remind myself why I must not act foolishly in anger.
Very funny the things we did as children.

This is a great lesson why anger should not be found in our bossom. The devil will delibrately provoke us in order to hinder us from our blessings

Lol, but if you did not eat your biscuit and kept faith, mummy would have known what happened either same day or another day
