The misery of anger over uncontrollable situations

in anger •  7 years ago

Knowing you have a temper and then really seeing it happen through you. Wanting it to stop because you already know there is nothing to come from this uneccessary reaction. So why get angry in the first place? The heightened emotions of the moment? Not being able to control defense mechanisms that have been indoctrinated into our minds making us have cognitive dissonance getting all up in our feelings😂 One of the first signs of war is defense. I saw that on a meme the other day and it made all the sense in the world. You don't like what Someone Else is doing. It is Offending you so you get Defensive and all in your feelings and come out with why it should change and be your way. Hence war invading places for no good reason except for they're wrong and we're right. When in all reality it should be seen with an open mind. (Sorry for the anti war rant there ✌️😜) Anger brings you nothing but a burden throughout your day. Choose to be positive and let that be that.
This all came from me needing to really write out an explanation of why I messed up as a volleyball coach and failed my team in our playoff game. Great hard fought game went to all five sets. I got s yellow card in the second set for being to chatty with the ref about missed calls. Anger over an uncontrollable situation. So now I have to sit on the bench can't stand by my team anymore. Anyways flash forward to the fifth set we are tied 11-11. They set their middle and he hits the ball but obviously his whole forearm hits the net. My whole bench and I jump up because there is no call of a net. I get the red card because I jumped up. Even though I had previously gotten out of my seat during the game after that yellow card but never the less still shouldn't have gotten the yellow in the first place. So now we are down 13-11 on that one play. End up losing 15-11.
I've always attributed my passion for this game and the love I have for how blessed I've been by it to why I get so angry and flustered during the actual game. But it's totally my own personal anger, in volleyball specifically towards an uncontrollable situation. Anger is one of the hardest things to control but once it is done it's beautiful. People who don't get angry are the best to be around they radiate on such a high frequency it's amazing. Goals for sure 😂
