These stories are mind-blowing. I've seen so many videos of predators start taking care of "their" pray, especially when there are babies involved.
What wonders me is that these creatures need to eat meat to survive. They are obligate carnivores. If they don't, they die.
In this video a leopard left "their food" to be eaten by others, so they can take care of the baby. It's incredible.
We humans claim to possess morality over other species, but this leopard seems to have better morals than some humans do.
A lot of people would never actively kill an animal. Yet if we eat meat, dairy or egg products, we are ultimately responsible for baby animals suffering and dying.
We don't want to be actively involved in the process of killing, since most people know it's wrong.
People can't do it themselves and this is why we let SOMEONE else do it for us. Slaughterhouse workers regularly suffer from psychological issues due to the horrible working conditions and the fact that they have to take lives second after second. These people sadly can not afford to leave this job due to their economic background.
So what's the difference?
Unlike leopards we are not obligate carnivores. We don't need meat to live a healthy live, yet we still consume meat and animal byproducts and therefore do the exact opposite than what the leopard does to the baby.
Even though leopards are obligate carnivores, this individual showed mercy to another animal they usually consider "food".
Humans rarely do this, and when it comes to our food choices this kind of mercy becomes even more scarce.
We humans have a choice and can show compassion towards baby animals at least three times a day.
