The animal that most often helped a man at work, in return, got a little or almost nothing. In fact, it often received countless hits than kind words. For those who haven't yet understood who we are talking about, the following phrases are intended for the Equus asinus (Donkey) which in Slovenian language means "osel". There is much talk, but only a little is written and consequently, we incorrectly explain some of its properties.

A strong and stable character with simple habits, which sometimes become very stubborn. And it was precisely this affliction that made the man mistakenly to devote less attention to the donkey and raised it more often with a firm hand than other domestic animals. However, today it's known that the behavior of the donkey largely depends on his master. If we take good care of him and treat him well, he turns out to be a quick, submissive and diligent worker, otherwise, he becomes a lazy, dull, and stubborn.

A donkey can't be overlooked. It has a large head, a slim thin back, and long ears. His voice is also unique. Bray - as we call the announcement of the donkeys is nothing more than a sophisticated melody of a slave. Many things he has in common with their "cousin" horse, but also a lot of differences. It is smaller in growth, the hoofs are smaller and narrower. He also wears a much less elegant look than a "relative." In exchange, nobody is overwhelmed in sympathy (of course, if it's not too stubborn ...). It has a very sharpened, well-remembered memory, remembering very well the paths and places in which it was. It runs quickly and is very durable. In the past, it was mainly used as a freight and cattle animal. He patiently and persistently carried people as well as heavier cargo. In addition, donkeys were also used for milk, meat, and skin.

Most of all, we know him by the word and equate less talented people with him, and yet they are very curious, brave, loyal, patient and social animals. Some breeders prefer to describe them: the donkeys have the gentle nature of the Newfoundland, the cow's dedication, the resistance of the mule, the courage of the tiger, and are a little less intelligent than humans.

Anyone who wants to enjoy the company of donkeys shouldn't leave him alone, for he is a social animal and for him, it is difficult to tolerate solitude. If two donkeys represent the problem, then we can replace one with a sheep, goat or pig. Otherwise, he can become "wild", irritable and very loud. The donkey is a simple animal that doesn't require special care, unlike a horse. But it's vital that we devote at least a part of our time to him. He will pay you all that back.
