Este insecto suele vivir asociado al hombre ya que se alimentan de materia orgánica vegetal o animal en descomposición. Es completamente inofensivo, a menos que te lo quieras comer, pues tiene un mecanismo de defensa: Levanta su cuerpo y al final de su abdomen tiene unas glándulas que emiten un líquido fétido que rocía sobre su atacante.

This insect usually lives associated with man since they feed on decaying organic vegetable or animal matter. It is completely harmless, unless you want to eat it, because it has a defense mechanism: It lifts its body and at the end of its abdomen it has glands that emit a foul liquid that it sprinkles on its attacker.
