Trichiosoma triangulum larva feast on leaves from common trees across North America like ash, willows, cherries and poplars. As adults these wasp relatives, with dark bodies and orange wings, look like flies. The females have a saw-like ovipositor for cutting into plant flesh to lay their eggs in.
