These birds can drive you nuts - why is it these beautiful birds sound awful - yet the magpie sings like an angel :)

Haha. I was thinking the same as I was listening to the magpies carol this morning and then the cockies came in CAWCAWCAW and drowned them out.

Yep, totally wild. This is at the local park lands. They come in most days to feed there.

I think it is awesome. Many people just don't notice.

I think it would be fantastic. I would be there on a regular basis to feed and take pictures of them. Here though, being that they are so expensive, people would steal them and sell them... :/

They are heavily protected by law here, all our birds and reptiles are, to prevent that from happening. Licenses are required to keep and breed them and they must be obtained from licensed breeders. Huge penalties including jail time and heavy fines apply for braking the laws.
