The snake that couldn't

in animalphotography •  7 years ago

So I get to work this morning and there is this snake in the barn. Barn 7 to be exact. I asked people on Facebook what it was... most people commented with a cottonmouth/ water moccasin. Someone else said a brown water snake.

It does have a triangle head and diamond eyes in my opinion. And to me and the chance of it freaking out the horses and the horses injuring themselves it is now a very gone snake..

What is your opinion?

I am not that knowledgeable on snakes but I know brown snakes are generally dangerous as in Australia we have them a lot, along with most of the world's deadliest animals :D

The way it works in America is if its a diamond head and had oval eyes its venomous. As well as the saying and other versions of this is Red touch black, safe for Jack. Red touches yellow, kills a fellow. It is brown but there are other harmless snakes that are brown the harmless ones are normally skinny...

Ah okay then, definitely better to be safe though. And I meant we literally have the common brown snake which is venemous.

Ah ok.. my bad...

Yikes! I would scream like a banshee and run like the wind if I saw that snake. I couldn’t go back in the barn. We don’t have poisonous ones here, that I know of, but it doesn’t matter -I freak out. Crazy phobia

There are so many snakes in florida just roaming where ever they see fit to... at random as well..

I knew there were a lot of gators but didn’t know the snakes were so plentiful.

After googling water moccasins it is quit possible that it is one. Though I am not able to see the markings clear enough to determine for sure. I don't mind snakes.
