Since we moved into our new Housesit we´re not only taking care of Rocco the Staffy, we also take care of two nameless Hens. It´s the second time we´ve the pleasure to take care of Hens and just now I realized how good it is to have some of them in the Garden.
They do not make much work, they do not really cost you a lot of money and last but not least they lay fresh eggs every day. If you ever had fresh eggs for breakfast instead of eggs from the supermarket you know that they taste so much better.
Seit wir in unseren neue Housesit eingezogen sind, kümmern wir uns nicht nur um Rocco den Staffy, sondern auch um zwei namenlose Hühner. Es ist das zweite Mal, dass wir das Vergnügen haben, uns um Hühner zu kümmern und gerade jetzt habe ich gemerkt, wie gut es ist welche im Garten zu haben.
Sie machen nicht viel Arbeit, sie kosten nicht viel Geld und legen täglich frische Eier. Wenn ihr jemals frische Eier zum Frühstück anstelle von Eiern aus dem Supermarkt hattet, wisst ihr dass sie so viel besser schmecken.
You actually don´t need much to get your fresh eggs in the morning. Most important you´ll need some hens and a bit of Garden behind you house. Furthermore they need a small shed where they can hide at night and from the rough weather and lay their eggs.
Hens usually eat gras, grains, worms, snails and small insects which makes them omnivore. Most people give them their food scraps from veggies, but additionally they get a pre mixed food.
Man braucht eigentlich nicht viel, um seine frischen Eier am Morgen zu bekommen. Am wichtigsten sind ein paar Hühner und ein bisschen Garten hinter dem Haus. Außerdem braucht man einen kleinen Schuppen, in dem sie sich nachts und vor dem rauhen Wetter verstecken und ihre Eier legen können.
Hühner fressen normalerweise Gras, Körner, Würmer, Schnecken und kleine Insekten, was sie zu Allesfressern macht. Die meisten Leute geben ihnen ihre Essensreste aus Gemüse, aber zusätzlich bekommen sie ein vorgemischtes Futter aus Körnern.

definitiv. werde ab jetzt auch keine mehr im supermarkt holen. entweder beim bauern oder eben keine eier.

Schöne Sache! Ist der Schuppen auch der Verschlag in dem die Hühner schlafen? Könnte sicherlich bisschen heimischer ausgestattet werden, wenn ja.
Als Stadtmensch fehlt mir aktuell der Bezug zu frischen Eiern, aber mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass Eier aus dem Supermarkt (ob sie Bio sind oder nicht) nicht wirklich gut schmecken.
Kannst ja mal eine Fuhre zu mir schicken ;)

Ja die sitzen immer nur auf der Stange im Eck. Könnte man mit Sicherheit schöner machen, aber ich mein das sind Hühner, glaub denen ist das egal wie es aussieht. Sauber machen könnte ich es mal 😁

Wissen wir es, ob es ihnen egal ist? Vielleicht genießen sie es ja auch, wenn ein schönes Gemälde aufgehängt oder zumindest etwas Stroh verstreut wird :D

Interessant, die legen wirklich JEDEN Tag Eier? Wie machen die das :D Beim lesen viel mir auf, dass ich gar keinen Bezug zu den Eiern im Supermarkt und frischen Eiern herstellen könnte, bezogen auf den Geschmack. Hatte bisher noch nie die Gelegenheit wirklich frische zu bekommen.

ja jeden Tag, mindestens eins. ich weiß nicht welche von beiden legt oder ob Sie beide legen. Ja das ist ja das krasse heut zu Tage. Wir essen bestimmte Sachen jeden Tag machen uns aber keinen Kopf wo es herkommt. Die können BIO drauf schreiben so viel sie wollen, wie es nachher auf dem Hof aussieht weiß man eh nicht.
Geschmacklich kann ich es nicht genau sagen, schmecken einfach besser. Das Eigelb ist dass woran man es am meisten erkennt. Viel gelber, eigentlich schon orange.

Ich habe zwar schon lange keinen Vergleich mit den Eiern gehabt, aber ich bin 100000% deiner Meinung das man den Unterscheid schmeckt. Ist glaube ich schon ein paar Jahrzehnte bei mir her, dass ich eine echtes frisches ei gegessen habe :-)

ehrlich gesagt habe ich aufgehört Eier zu essen, da sie mir nicht mehr wirklich geschmeckt haben. Esse auch heute selten Eier, aber wenn dann schmecken diese garantiert besser. Die frischen werden natürlich alle verwendet, wenn wir sie nicht so essen backt Fidi halt nen Kuchen ;)
