AnimalPhotography - Lion - The king of the jungle

in animalphotography •  7 years ago

We were our early morning to see if we could capture a glimpse of one of Addo's rear lions. It was misty and still fairly dark, but in the uneasy looks of the zebra's we knew that the king of the jungle must be close by. Then we spotted it, a massive shape moving behind the tree. I drove to the side and to my surprise the lion was walking on a game trail right towards my vehicle. This male with it's majestic mane passed physically 1m from the car and then roared so loud that it felt the ground was shaking! What an awesome experience.

I apologize for the grainy photo. The light was really bad and I did not have proper flash equipment with me, so I just took a photo or two and then had to enhance the colours afterwards. I just had to post and share this experience with you guys!

I sure would hate to piss off that lion. Even pissing off a zebra could be fatal.

Haha, agreed. Maybe stick with the rule to not piss off any wild animals? ;)

Such a nice photos!

Awesome pictures. At first I was thinking you took the photo while jogging... that would have been a brown trousers time!

Haha, in that case it would either be taken from a tree or in selfie mode to capture my last photo ever! ;)

Nice job! @extremejogging

Thanks @razvan1997.

What an encounter! So much better than watching these majestic animals caged in zoo right? Living in Africa must be amazing, especially for a wildlife lover :)

Absolutely, I'm super blessed to live here. I totally despise zoos. :|

Same here :) Watching animals in their natural environment is the best experience... for both sides ;) I am really glad to find out there are more like me here on Steemit :)
