Yesterday i visited the ground squirrels the first time this year for some animal photography. I really had luck and they where so cute that i could nearly feed them with my hand. It's always nice how curious they are to new things. Unfortunately people don't pay a lot of attention to wild animals like these. I could literally hit people who feed bread or other processed food to wild animals like these ground squirrels. The problem is people don't know that they do a lot of harm to these animals.

Bread and other processed food does a lot of harm to animals like squirrels, ground squirrels, ducks, birds, or nearly any other animal. The digestion of this food is not so good in animals and some of them even die because they are fed with "shit" like this.

The next thing that hit the spot was a woman who didn't have her dog on the leash and let her dog smell on the openings to the caves of the ground squirrels and didn't leash her dog even after we told her and showing her the sign wich is already mounted there everywhere to please don't let dogs run free in this area. Some of the dog owners don't understand that animals like these ground squirrels who are very seldom and have to fight against extinction.

Tolle Bilder mit den Ground Squirrels und den Blumen.

Florian, these little guys are SO beautiful! And I love your images of them - thank you so much for sharing them with us. It is awful to see people behaving inappropriately towards any animal, and I share your furstration in that regard entirely. All we can do is try to educate them. Or hit them ;o) Jay <3

Thank you for your thoughts, i was on holiday for the last week on Neusiedler See and you'll find some new wildlife pictures in the next days i hope, i have seen so many interesting animals there, i still can't believe it till now. I am going to visit this place again in autumn this year. Next week i do some wildlife photography in Helgoland.

Excellent - I'll look forward to seeing them!
