If you are one of my followers, you may know that I posted a story about the image below 4 days ago and explained how it was a happy accident.

In all the excitement that followed that post (many thanks to all the steemians who upvoted and took the time to comment), I forgot that exactly 20 seconds later, I did get a sharp shot of the bird (main image top of page) and I think it would be wrong not to show it. That was the kind of shot I was actually going for. I also mentioned that I had been taking some scenic shots of the area, so while I'm here I'd like to show some of them too.

This is a selfie I took with the aid of a small tripod and the Olympus Mobile App where I could see what the camera was seeing and was able to shoot remotely. Please note I am sporting some very sexy waders.

Sexy waders and ......... yeah, I think you know where I'm going with this. In truth a pair of wellington boots would have sufficed, but I like to keep on the cutting edge of fashion. ;)

And finally, for my last two images, the early morning mist helped to add a little mood and atmosphere.

I think this all goes to show that you don't necessarily have to go travelling miles to extravagant locations to get your photography fix. This is a 10 minute drive from home and a short walk for me, and I live in a built up area a little north of London, UK. I hope this will inspire you to go explore your local area.
