Africa #5: Time for another Safari 🐃 in the famous Hluhluwe Nationalpark 🐗 🐪

Today it’s time for another safari.
We drove about 3 hours to the Hluhluwe Nationalpark which is famous for its rhinos. We decided to drive around in the park for ourselves, just like in the Kruger Nationalpark.

Rangers on guided tours are able to spot a lot of animals you may wouldn’t have recognized, but it didn’t fit our budget. Driving around for yourselves gives you the freedom to go where you want and of course it is cheaper. You just have to be very attentively 😋.
The landscape throughout the park is really beautiful and almost a reason to come for by itself.

But the highlight of the Nationalpark are of course the lots of different animals you can see there. We saw countless giraffes, water buffalos, zebras, warthogs, antilopes and finally some rhinos

If you drive through a nationalpark in South Africa be aware that you have to be at the gate when the park closes, otherwise you have to pay a fee, which is more expensive than the entrance fee itself.

You have to be aware that you shouldn’t drive too fast in a nationalpark because behind every corner could be an animal. We almost crashed into two rhinos when we were leaving the park, it was already dark and we were a bit late because we underestimated the size of the park. But we had luck and made it out of the park two minutes to 6.

So for now we have seen 4/5, just the lion is still missing…
