Looking for Love - Animal Photography

in animalphotography •  7 years ago

I met this handsome devil in Koprivshtisa, Bulgaria at the Dona Guest House (a wonderful place that will most certainly be featured in a future post). I am no pooch pundit but this one looks to have some Weimaraner in him. If anyone knows what kind of dog this really is, please let me know in the comments below...inquiring minds want to know.

This dog had so much energy and was quite the boisterous barker. He would run in circles, as far as the chain allowed, with his route going up and over his house...quite a sight! When I realized he was friendly, wanting love and not to eat me, I approached him. I was able to pet him a bit and he controlled his excitement for about 4 seconds. At that point he lunged at me, front paws to my gut, packing quite a punch. Good times! 😁

This was his equivalent to a GQ pose. What a character!

Look at that face...those eyes!

I have no idea what type he is but that first pose and shot is brilliant

Thanks! This dog is a pet portrait photographer's (which I am not) dream! He knew how to work it! :D

He sure looked like he knows how to pose ;)

Be aware of the DOG ! Its my house ;-)

There was no way not to be aware of this dog, he made quite sure of that. :D

So majestic, so much wow! I love dogs, they are my favorites next to horses and that pup deserves all the love in the world.

There were horses in the corral right next to this guy. We were waiting for our guide to take us on a ride through the mountains above where we were staying when I had my encounter with this pup. Majestic is a perfect word to describe him...majestic and manic. :D

I grew up around a dog and a cat and now, as adult, I just want to have one on my own but I need a big yard for that, I do not want to keep a big dog in a small space. Need to wait for it :D Meanwhile, I at least have a horse to ride once in a week so that keeps my craving for a loyal companion at bay :D

I didn't have pets growing up and actually had quite a fear of dogs...I got bitten once and chased quite a bit. I don't know what it was with all the aggressive pooches in my younger years but, I am so glad to have gotten over that. Your big dog and big yard will come and so glad you have lovely distraction in the meantime.

Haha, I had an issue with a dog once, too. It was when I was little. This huge beast was on the street with his owner, who was not really good at or did not want to control the dog and the animal threw me into a ditch right next to the road, you know, those places that let the water flow on the sides instead of overflowing the road when it is wet.

That was a weird experience but it did not make me scared of dogs, thankfully. Still love them to this day!
