Pacific White sided dolphins, or, Lags, which is their common nickname are by far one of the most energized and playful marine mammals here along the BC coastline. It is not uncommon to come across 200+ individual animals in a single pod, playing, breaching, socializing and happily going out of their way to bow ride any vessel close by.
This pod was about 100 individual dolphins that appeared to be foraging hard, chasing after a school a fish somewhere close to the surface. One of the individuals was having quite the exceptional time, as he/she constantly breached within the pod time after time and I was lucky enough to grab my camera and capture one of those breaches
