Yes, you’re reading that correctly. I am currently in Wilcot, a small village in the county of Wiltshire, United Kingdom. I am taking care of Dolly the three legged Labrador who happens to have epilepsy. I have never met a dog so sweet and full of personality in my entire life and she goes on with barely any trouble having just three legs.
Dolly being all silly on the couch.
Wilcot is closest to Pewsey, a small town with a train station which gets people to London in just a little over an hour. Nearby is also Marlborough, a big old town where one can go to the cinema and find almost all amenities.
A friend of mine needed somebody to look after Dolly and so I gladly took the offer to spend time with the gorgeous dog. Dolly lives with another Labrador named Monkey, but she isn’t here because she is off on a farm elsewhere attempting to produce puppies. I have stayed with both dogs a few months ago when I was house sitting again for the same family.
This photo was taken a few months ago of Dolly (left) and Monkey (right). This is also before the vegetation on the field started to grow.
The house I am staying in is detached with a stone exterior and the most stunning garden. It has five bedrooms, two sitting rooms, a spacious kitchen, three bathrooms and a gate opening up to a large field for Dolly to run around in.
The house I'm staying at for the next few days.
I unpacked my bags today, played with Dolly, and went out on a walk with her, one of my pockets stuffed with her favorite treats! When I say the countryside is beautiful, I mean it is stunning! Trees arch over roads, there’s a canal across the street from the house with canal boats parked. There are hills in the distance and nature all around. I find it so tranquil and relaxing.

I had a lamb shepherd’s pie for dinner and gave Dolly her epilepsy pill. She gets one in the morning and one at night during dinner. I place the pill in the palm of my hand and she licks it off, as if it’s just a routine for her.
I watched Tomorrowland (2015) which is a brilliant film. It was rated a 6.5/10 according to IMDb, but I believe it deserves a much higher rating. Films like this, where you sit through a long and interesting journey, it’s always sad when they come to an end. When a movie is so good, you just want it to continue for a few more hours.

Today was all about settling in, reading the owners’ instructions they left me for the house and Dolly, and getting to enjoy the countryside. Let me know what you think about my adventure!

Dolly does! In fact, I always call her "Seal" just because when her ears are flat I can't tell the difference! :)
