The poor little dove who survived the coyote attack has passed away. It must have had internal injuries. I checked all over for crushing,but, I must have missed something.
She was in good spirits yesterday and this morning. This afternoon I checked on her and she was dead.
This at least teaches my kids the fragility of life and the pride of knowing they did their best to help a fellow creature. We are all very saddened by the loss, but, such is the cycle.
I love you guys with my soul. Steem on.

its sad, I use to feed and water two dove like this for almost two years they come and go mostly come over to eat and one day one of them stayed at my window in nigth time I was thinking wow she is gonna sleep here it made me very happy, next morning she was still there thats when I found out she was gone
so sad, I put her under nice tree.
It also made me happy that she come stayed with me her last hours.

You did the best you could. We have one of these here but it's impossible to get veterinary aid for them in any respectable amount of time, you basically have to be the vet and leave part of it to chance.

Birds are all different. We ended up with our dove in pretty much the same way as you did except it was a hatchling. They're easy to deal with when you know what you're doing except no one does and there are very few guides online.

Oh, the poor thing! I used to save injured animals all the time when I was younger. Honestly, I think it's a great but difficult lesson for kids. HUGS
