Bats invasion !!! - Broome mangroves, Western Australia

in animals •  7 years ago

A mixed black flying fox and little red flying fox colony of around 50,000 megabats lives all year in mangroves next to Broome township's small Streeter's Jetty.

They chatter and socialise loudly before flying out at dusk each evening.

The bats are key pollinators and seed dispersers for native trees and plants.

oh wow :-o upvoted and resteemed!

What a spectacular sight. No Flying foxes in Tassie (aside from the odd vagrant every few years)

Australia looks like an amazing place to visit, but yet another reason I wouldn't want to live there. JK!

San Antonio has bats that live under a lot of the bridges around there and at the dusk hours it looks pretty similar as to what you captured with your pictures just without the beautiful ocean background.

Great pictures. Thumbs up..:)

You made the cool footage! I'm excited!

wow, amazing
