To begin this tale, lets say that I had multiple preconceptions on what a coyote was and what they look like. I thought a coyote was about a feet shorter than a German Shepherd. I've seen a coyote skull, when I was younger; my teacher had found the skull in her backyard, and I thought the skull looked small, I thought they would resemble small dogs that are bigger than your average cat.
Many years later, I move into a new place with my family; we inherit some chickens from people that used to live in our new place, sadly on of the chickens had gotten killed by a raccoon. Someone miscounted the chickens before closing the chicken coop, my aunt found a raccoon feeding on on of the hens, I had to dispose the chicken the next day.
The rooster that we have at the house was usually noisy, like in any morning the rooster had always started cooing. There are many times the rooster would be a dick; mainly whenever I go to the coop to feed the chickens, the rooster would usually attack me. But the rooster was always important in staying with the chickens; because he would always make loud noises, when something foreign comes into the yard.
What has been happening for few several weeks was that, everytime the chickens were out a giant raccoon would sneak into the chicken coop, and at times destroy the chickens eggs. The rooster had make a large unusual sound, I checked out the commotion, and saw a big fat raccoon in the chickens coop. The raccoon ran out of the coop as it saw me.
What kind of fuckery mcfucky happened next, was something that will be in my mind for sometime; so I was resting in my bed as I awoke to a load scream my mother's made, she told my aunt and I that a coyote is attacking the chickens.
I went into the dining room and saw one of the hens in the corner of the room. I continued into the porch and saw another hen inside. I continued to go out into the backyard, before I could react the coyote had grabbed the rooster's left arm in his or her' s mouth; then with the rooster's feathers flying all over the backyard, the coyote ran and jumped over the 6 feet fence with the rooster in its mouth. That was the last time I saw the rooster alive.
The remaining chickens the were outside had tried to call out to the rooster, but there was no response. Sorry if there was any incorrections in the story. It's my first time posting for steemit posting for steemit. I got a picture of the rooster's feathers after he was taken away.
So I'm currently wondering, have any of you had any incident, where you or someone else you know; may have had chickens or other pets, that have been attacked by or encountered any animal from the wild life?
