The big ones

Teenagers who won't leave home.

Here we have Peanut Prudence and Primrose.
(yes all the P names for this mob)
And a random blow in

Peanut and Prue were raised together here 2 years ago after a soft release (open the gate and let them come and go)
They have refused to go
Primrose is last year's girl and she was raised and released with a Red necked wallaby named Ballerina

The year the big P's were raised was an extremely dry year so I'd often put the hose and sprinkler in the pen for them to cool down and water the grass for them to eat. They loved it and now torment me when I try to water my vegetable garden
Peanut will stand over me and grab the hose out of my hand
It's quite intimidating because he's a big boy
I now have to drive the 4 wheeler over to the garden for a quick getaway, the sound of the engine also temporarily moves them on

The biggest boy there (the blow in) has come to mate with the girls although they aren't ready yet. There is usually only one big male in a mob and him and peanut have already started fighting over the girls.
If you've never seen 2 big male Kangaroos fight I can tell you it's quite a show and a little scary to watch. Peanut stood his ground and it hasn't got too serious yet but as he matures more they will fight until one leaves
Although I raised Peanut I kind of hope the bigger male gets rid of him because he will then take the girls away to make his own mob and like I said Peanut is starting to terrorize and intimidate me.
It's so rewarding raising and releasing them but some days I regret allowing my house to be the release site .

Well Peanut certainly isn’t like a peanut nowadays, they all look so relaxed and chilled out seems like they have made your place their territory. Magnificent animals, great photo.
