In keeping with today’s theme of sharing Beauty and (living) Art, I thought that this short update might be apt :)

Recently, our pet peacock, Daffy, gave us quite a scare, by disappearing for a few days (following an unsupervised outing).

Last I saw him, he was on a neighbor’s rooftop, with his main squeeze, Rose. Since it was late in the evening and the sun was setting, we thought it’s best that Daffy and Rose spend the night up there and, the following day, we steer them back home.

Well, we did manage to lure the girl, our peahen, but not Daffy—who went MIA :( I feared the worst and, as days passed, began to accept that he might never return.

But, now, he’s back! Today, is wet and cold, so they’re not out and about (also, both are still grounded after their misbehavior).

But, the young boy is feeling in fine form—as you can see in this short video— after my silly niece and nephew, Belen & Jude, stopped by to feed them:)

ahaha how cute! I find it so funny that you have peacocks as pets =) Glad Daffy came back unharmed =)

They’re lovely things to have around, even before Daffy turned into a living work of art (at age 2 they become adults, and grow a full tail...)

I believe they are called ‘royal turkeys’ in Spanish, and that is what they are, really. 🤪

yes =) they're called pavo real. Are they affectionate? I hear turkeys are very affectionate and protective, not sure about peacocks but it must be similar?

Well, I wouldn’t go so far as to say they are affectionate, though they/he, specifically, used to tolerate more of it when he was younger.

Whereas the chicken we lost, Josephina, was both affectionate & protective of the peacock as a baby, whom she was like a mother to.♥️

That must have been a scare, pets feels like (and are) family. And nice to see that he returned with his feathers intact!

Yes, they are like family—we’re relieved they’re alive and well (especially, since we already lost a peahen and a chicken). 🙌🏼

I've always been mesmerized by their colors..i envy your pet but i love my dog more! Hehe.!

Yeah, they’re more look-but-don’t-touch, I can fully understand why you would prefer your dog. 😜

Yep..but your pet has my fave color soo....😅 hehe

haha the young boy is feeling in fine form and looking proud . that's why we say" Proud as a peacock" ; it is a saying that is used to mean a vain or self-centered person🦃🦃🦃🦃

Yes, I’m familiar with the saying ;) And, the boy is quite a show-off!

You have pet peacock , that's great . Peacock is beautiful creature of nature .
