When I'm out in the mountains I'm almost always doing something, going somewhere, climbing some mountain, exploring a creek for fishing, etc.. I occasionally do get some quiet times where I just sit quietly and enjoy the nature, but my mom is always telling me I should slow down and just enjoy being out there without having to always do this or that adventure. So reading your post just had me thinking "yup, mom is right, I really do need to try to slow down a bit when I'm out". I'm sure getting to watch all these animals was such an awesome experience!! And you really got some great photos of them.

Next time you are out, listen to what your Mom told you, my Mom always had a saying "sit quietly and feast your eyes", I too do not normally stay behind to take some time, am glad to start learning you don't have to go looking for nature always.

I am lucky in that I pretty much live with wildlife and nature daily. Over the last 18 months, I gave up life in the burbs to travel and enjoy the natural world. Currently, I rotate between living for months at a time in cabins in a lowcountry nature resort in Georgia, another camp/resort outside the Everglades, and in the mountains of North Carolina.
