Do not worry.

Paint.NET still exists and its free of charge, is quite user-friendly and has good functionality. ^_^

Alternatively the less simple Inkscape if you're more into vector graphics.

      Plenty of good software out there that serves as a good substitute for 'insert pricey software title here'.
