You are right, it made me think about our society too. Poor thing is that there is no easy answer to any of your questions nor an easy solution.
I really liked the intro theme though, made me feel a little nostalgic with its "GeGeGe no Ge" :D

Thanks for your comment! Yes, I enjoyed many of the critiques in the show. There's one episode where the kappa are exploited for cucumbers, and I was like damn, the staff is really going that far. I was impressed.
