Hey guys how are you?
It's time for another anime review but this time the anime has something very different from the others (daa if it was the same who would watch it). This time we gonna talk about a Chinese Anime. Yes you heard me and i will repeat it a Chinese Anime. Pretty lately China got into the Anime industry and has done quite remarkable job so far. Don't except to be amazed by the results but think of it as something greater that i bet in a few years we gonna witness some amazing Chinese anime and a battle vs the Japanese ones.
General Info
Let's start with the basics. The producers are the Haoliners Animation League, Tencent Animation and Emon which pretty much have produced everything that comes out lately with the most popular ones you might have heard being the Reikenzan: Eichi e no Shikaku and Gin no Guardian. The studio making this is called Namu Animation and the complete name of the anime is Hitori no Shita: The Outcast.
It is a martial arts with superpowers and in general supernatural element kind of anime with 2 seasons ( currently the second season is airing) with the first season having a total of 12 episodes and the second season having for now 5. The total score according to myanimelist site is 6.66 (666 BEWARE) among 49 thousands members and the second one has a total of 7.30 but only from 4.500 members.
But who cares what others think?
You care what i think!
I am kidding i am kidding
Story
The story's start may confuse you a bit and trick you thinking this anime is about zombies and stuff as the protagonist Zhang Chulan a virgin loser is visiting his grandpa grave back in the village. At the same time there are some mysterious whispers about zombies and graves completely empty. Zhang Chulan learns about the rumors and decides to go in the middle of the night to pay his respects to his grandpa grave. There, he see a girl that dig some graves, he quickly take a photo of her in order to have proofs and starts running back to the village and while he believes everything is fine the woman grabs him and take him back to the graves where it is full of zombies and Zhang Chulan just sits and watch the girl killing some zombies with a kitchen knife and later on abandoning him to his doom!
Zhang Chulan somehow survives and a couple of days later at his university the mysterious girl shows up as a new student. Turns out Zhang Chulan has trained by his grandpa and knows martial arts and possess some kind of superpowers using chi and stuff. The girl named BaoBao you can say with a first glimpse is an emotionless coldblooded killer that tests Zhang Chulan powers out. After that we get to learn that he inherited some sort of special power and that in order to find out what that power really is and who his grandpa really was has to go to a superpower martial arts tournament where everyone from every school is gathered there, win this and ask the grand elder himself of his past.
Meanwhile there is a team of bad guys us usual that want his power for their own evil causes so Zhang Chulan has to train himself with the help of BaoBao and her group and find out the big secret.

Is It Worth?
hmm here comes down the most important part. For starters i wanna clarify that the best judges are you and only you, you can just read the reviews but don't be completely one sided. I am saying all that because i read some pretty bad reviews about this one and according to my opinion are completely stupid but let's just start with what i believe and we gonna come down to that.
What i think is that it's the worth the time, the story isn't something unique nor the plot twists but i really don't care as long as i see a decent anime and most of all ''MARTIAL ART TOURNAMENT'' that phrase alone reminded me the Dragon Ball and the tournaments there! Some battles are good some not so good but the powers are quite good and i really like the part that have merged them with the Chinese philosophy and martial art schools so when you see a fireball it's not just a fireball, it came from the total control of body temperature of the person according to the Jackie Chan School he is into!
season 2 trailer
Finally i wanna take side about all the bad reviews out there. Most of these people are comparing the anime with other Japanese ones. They have to understand that we are talking about a Chinese anime. Everything is different and i like that part, it shows they try. The art isn't what we used to but it's not CGI either, or if the mouth opening and closing doesn't quite fit it's because it was made for their Chinese languageee get over it, or even when you hear chinese instead of japanese and don't like it YOU WILL GET USED TO IT, remember the first time you watched a Japanese Anime.
Don't be so cruel guys, give them chances it's for the benefit of all to have other countries create anime. Some years ago particularly in my country i remember when we were talking about chinese products like phones everyone laugh and considered worst than garbage and look were we are now with a huge Chinese industry of very good quality cell phones.
Anyway i said quite a lot my overall review from the 2 seasons i have watched is 7/10
