There's nothing like the open road. It calls to you, pulls at you like a goddess beckoning you with promises, barely conceived whispers, of glory and adventure. Here, the same 'ole same 'ole. But there, wherever there is, the promise of something else. Something other.
Kino's journey is a story about a traveler, Kino. She travels atop her talking motorcycle, Hermes from place to place staying in any town or city she visits for just three days and two nights. The pair encounter all sorts of strange cities with different rules and societal structures, often pushing philosophical and moral quandries upon poor Kino.
Despite the fact that this anime takes place in a fantasy universe, it still embodies all that it means to be human. And the gorgeous animation still holds up, despite its age. Definitely check it out, especially if you like shows that are thought-provoking and deep.
